December 24th

When Christmas is Blue

Join Deb Bennett in a community circle this morning. In lieu of a normal service Deb will be leading a small group ministry experience. We will sit in a circle and begin with lighting our chalice and a time for “checking-in”.  Through reading and poetry we will explore our topic for the morning: When Christmas is Blue. Although Christmas can be a time of great celebration, family traditions and friend gatherings, it can also be a time of painful remembrance, loneliness and feeling down. This is a time to acknowledge those experiences and feelings and sit in the light of community. After the readings we have a time to listen to each other’s reflections.  If you have a poem or song you would like to contribute to the circle feel free to bring one. We will gather for coffee and refreshments afterward – bring a treat to share if you can.
Annual Christmas Eve Sing-A-Long.  Sunday, December 24th,  6:00 p.m. There will be a Pot-Luck Dessert Social after the       Sing-A-Long, so if you’d like to, you can bring cookies or some other yummy dessert item to share.  (The church will provide the coffee, tea, and cocoa.) Everyone is encouraged to wear your Ugly Christmas Sweaters, and bring Christmas hats, jingle bells, sleigh bells, even tambourines.  Let’s make a Joyful Noise!

No formal services. However, the church will be open and will welcome those who would like to come in for quiet meditation and sharing in the sanctuary or for conversation in the Social Hall. Tea and cocoa will be served.

We welcome your suggestions for upcoming services. Please contact Eddie O’Toole with your recommendations.
